A webinar and roundtable discussion titled “Policy & Certification for a Trusted IoT Ecosystem in the EU” will take place on 9 April 2026 (14:00–16:00 CET), as part of this year’s Global IoT Day, organised by the DOSS project.
The event is organised in collaboration with EU-funded initiatives including TELEMETRY, EMERALD, COBALT, CUSTODES and SECASSURED bringing together projects working on IoT security, certification, and policy-related aspects.
Among the contributions, the TELEMETRY project will present “How can TELEMETRY tools help you in a certification process?”, delivered by Martin Gilje Jaatun (SINTEF), offering insights into how project tools support certification processes in practice.
The session will focus on the role of policy and certification in shaping a more trustworthy IoT ecosystem in Europe. It will include a keynote, project presentations, and a roundtable discussion, creating space for exchange between ongoing EU initiatives and stakeholders involved in the field.
The discussion is expected to address current developments at EU level and explore how certification and policy frameworks can support the deployment of secure and reliable IoT systems.
The event is open to stakeholders from across the IoT ecosystem, including researchers, policymakers, and professionals working on cybersecurity, standardisation, and related areas.

Global IoT Day 2026: a global initiative connecting communities
The webinar is part of IoTDay 2026, a global initiative launched by the IoT Council in 2010 to explore emerging topics around the Internet of Things.
Since then, IoT Day has been organised annually in April, growing into a worldwide initiative with hundreds of events taking place across different locations and formats. These range from conferences and online sessions to informal meetups in cafés, classrooms, and public spaces.
At its core, IoT Day aims to bring discussions around IoT and AI into the open, encouraging collaboration between citizens, researchers, and industry experts. Each year, it serves as an open invitation to the wider community to organise local events and engage in conversations on what IoT means in practice and how it shapes everyday life.
