The Workshop on Whole-Lifecycle Security for Smart Systems (LIFESEC) will take place on June 16th, 2025, at Munster Technological University (MTU) in Cork, Ireland. Co-organised by the TELEMETRY and DOSS projects, this event is dedicated to the critical topic of securing smart systems across their entire lifecycle—from design and development to deployment and decommissioning. As digital technologies become ever more pervasive, LIFESEC offers a unique platform to explore cutting-edge methods and tools that enhance cybersecurity and foster trust in connected devices and critical infrastructure.
Why LIFESEC matters
Smart systems are transforming industries and daily life, but their growing complexity introduces new vulnerabilities. LIFESEC brings together leading experts, researchers, and practitioners to address these challenges head-on. By focusing on lifecycle-based security approaches, the workshop highlights the importance of proactive, adaptive, and sustainable cybersecurity strategies in today’s interconnected world.
Workshop agenda highlights
The LIFESEC Workshop offers a dynamic programme designed to foster knowledge exchange and collaboration. With a keynote presentation and two focused paper sessions, participants will gain insights into emerging methods and tools that advance the security and trustworthiness of smart systems across their entire lifecycle.
Keynote Presentation
The workshop will open with a keynote by Roland Atoui from Red Alert Labs, titled Rethinking Cybersecurity Compliance: A Scoring and Continuous Monitoring Approach, offering insights into evolving approaches to cybersecurity compliance and continuous monitoring.
